Re: M2 nightmare with soft filiment

I redesigned the stock drive to have a hinge and use springs for tension (see http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3283) and I never have to adjust tension when switching between any filaments anymore. I've never run EPA but I don't have any problems running flex stuff.... like mentioned ...

3a. If the platform thermistor cable shows no problem, then you need a new platform thermistor. I don't know if they're available separately or if you're in for a whole new assembly. You can get these separate you just have to ask for them as they are not listed on the site. (they were about $15 la...

Re: PETG your favorite brand?

I use eSUN PETG and it works awesome. There is an entire thread on here too on what settings to use.

I usually get it on Amazon from INTSERVO but you can get it direct to https://www.intservo.com (Will is a great guy to deal with.)

Re: M2 octoprint on Pi what to buy

Almost perfect, got webcam hacked so I can focus it.. but can I put it inside my enclosure .. guess it will survive the heat if I print abs? gets over 100F where I will have it mounted.. any horror stories? I can put it out side but the plexi glass really sucks.. I'd be careful... I use cheap Logit...

Re: M2 octoprint on Pi what to buy

Will using the pi as the interface while the print is running cause the printer to stop when the pi is busy with me using the UI? I guess I don't understand what your trying to do... Usually the whole point of using a Pi and Octoprint is to free up a main computer and just have a reliable system fe...

Re: Setting in S3D to raise/lower bed on startup?

If your talking about just adjusting the Z gap on a Rev E. printer without using the Makergear software. First Type M501 to read the EEPROM parameters Look for the M206 line. (it should look something like M206 X0.0 Y0.0 Z4.20) You can then adjust it using M206 Z[new value] (add to the number to mak...

Re: M2 octoprint on Pi what to buy

With octoprint you can do all that from any computer, table, or even your smart phone you don't need all that extra stuff.

Re: M2 octoprint on Pi what to buy

So maybe I should ask.. can you monitor and control with one Pi? The ribbon cable kind of sucks for creative installations.. I don't really want the CPU mounted in my enclosure.. Will the Motioneye0S work with a USB webcam or just he PI camera module? You can monitor and control with Octoprint with...

Re: M2 printing off SD stops if USB port bounce

I'm not sure why you would plug it back in while it's printing :? but yeah don't do that :D The only way a pi is going to "go down" is if you lose power and at that point your printer will too so you're SOL either way. The Pi setup with Octoprint is probably the best and most flawless why you can ru...

Re: M2 printing off SD stops if USB port bounce

You can start a print from S3D using the "Print from SD Card" button then just yank the USB cord out of the computer and the print will continue to print without any possible interruptions...

or better yet get a Raspberry Pi setup and run Octoprint and free up your computer all together.
