Re: Software to include with the M2?
Hello Rick, I don't really see what's wrong with the idea that official (paid) software = official support, and unofficial (free) software = unofficial support. I think we run a very nice support group here on the forum. You're a very small company, hardware is your area of expertise, and anybody wh...

Re: Photo beads with OpenSCAD
Obviously procrastination is not helpful. I was very busy over the past week and didn't download the zip file, and now it is nowhere to be found! Not sure why it disappeared, but, Toby, can you please re-post it? Thanks!

Re: SD card not working...
Uh. . . "no PC connected"? Unless you have a Viki LCD panel, you can't print without controlling it from a PC. The SD card avoids problems with slow communication over the USB cable, but it's not a one-touch print.

Re: Easy lithopanes with Simplify3D
Agreed, this is utterly cool.
But it's one of those things that OpenSCAD is slow at because it's trying to do it all the hard way, whereas the geometric manipulations here aren't at all complex. Maybe this is a job for TobyCAD?

Re: Software to include with the M2?
I second the idea of including a full S3D license and a $140 opt-out. Certainly there are plenty of us who bought M2s in the pre-S3D days and managed to scrap together the open-source software ourselves. But I went without the trial S3D version and coughed up the $140 anyway just based on the great ...

Re: Easy lithopanes with Simplify3D
For the record, if you look it up on Wikipedia, you will discover that it's actually a "Lithophane", not a "Lithopane". So now you know.

Re: SPAM Prevention
Thanks, Rick. Glad to see the spam gone, although sorry that it has to be an extra burden upon you (I run a few mail lists myself, so I know how it goes!).

Re: M2 flat work
Premature wear is unlikely (unless you fail to grease your rails), but slowing the speeds down will always help with detail by reducing the "ghosting" effect caused by underdamped vibrations. Beautiful print, by the way. What is the lengthwise dimension of that print?

Re: Easy lithopanes with Simplify3D
Sorry, I was going to mention the lighting but forgot about it. I put an LED flashlight behind it, on high intensity, with a Kleenex over it to diffuse the light a bit, so it wouldn't have a "spotlight" effect.

Re: Easy lithopanes with Simplify3D
Thanks, Jin! Your settings worked perfectly for me! I did have one issue, though, which is that if you give S3D a JPEG file, it will (always? sometimes?) produce a zero-size object as a result. Convert to a PNG file and it works just great. Not sure what's in the JPEG that S3D doesn't like, but at l...
