Re: Need some advice on how to respond
I also agree with learning the 3D program while you wait. When ordered my machine in April 2013, the waiting period was 8 weeks so I had time to experiment. Like some of you, I come from a 2D world as a graphic/multimedia designer in web and print using Photoshop, Illustrator and various video progr...

You may already be aware of this carbon-fiber PLA already, but I thought I'd point it out. I haven't tried anything exotic myself, but I saw this carbon-fiber PLA filament the other day at proto-pasta.com. They claim it prints much like PLA and it's much stronger than ABS and PLA in terms of stiffne...

Re: T-Rex
It's just primer and paint. I didn't do any sanding or finishing. It is exactly as printed from my M2.

Re: hoping to join the makergear community soon!
When I ordered one last spring, the lead time was seven weeks! I knew that upfront, but I could barely stand it taking so long. Once it arrived, all that anxiety vanished. It was well worth it - I am SO happy with my purchase and love my machine. Once it arrives, you'll forget all about the wait. I ...

T-Rex
I finally got around to painting my T-Rex skull from Thingiverse. I think I printed it at 150%, so it is just under nine inches in length.

Re: bottle neck
I do learn a bunch from watching YouTubers model objects, but I wish there was an actual book or video series that runs through everything. It is a powerful program, but I agree the interface is not at all intuitive. For instance, I had to look up how to move sketches, which you would think would ac...

Have you found any good sources for learning Fusion 360? I'm beginning to understand how it works, but other than YouTube videos, I have not found any really good resources.
Were you already familiar with other 3D modeling programs? What did you think of the learning curve?

Re: My On-Off switch for my M2 24v
The plug-in unit I have does have a toggle button on it so I can switch it on or off without having to use the phone. I don't have a model number since I'm not home to check, but I think all the plug-in units have it.

Re: My On-Off switch for my M2 24v
Oh, and night vision would be awesome too! Instead, I bought a 16 foot flexible color-changing LED strip with a 44 button remote control from Amazon and lined the inner walls of the printer with it. I didn't use the whole strip, but I lined the left, right and top sides with two strips each (in one ...
