Oh man, that's a good catch there. Not a place any of us were thinking to look for slop, clearly. I wouldn't think this is a wear issue, but it does sound like something to check for on the X and Y axes out of box and whenever you change belts.

Are the flats in the x or y direction? The problem axis is always perpendicular to the flats.

Could you post an executive summary of what it took to load the driver on the tablet in case someone runs into a similar problem in the future? The RAMBO's a pretty popular controller, so I think it'd be likely to come up again.

My design in abs still has that thinning when going over this spot on the bed. I decided to shift the print to the left and now the skirt is thin on this spot. Chances are your dense support is sagging and not supporting as much as you'd like. I would try 2-3 dense support layers, or a higher % on the sparse infill. Maybe both. It's not like you have to worry about squeezing the support out of a tight space or anything, it could be a completely solid piece...

If all you want to do is start prints that are already on the SD card, you could try Pronterface. You wouldn't need the slic3r integration, you'd just use the printer interface to jog the printer and start an SD card print.

I found that using a fine grade sand paper works a little bit better than a scrubby....it gives it more tooth and doesn't affect the print surface. If you have any in the 1000 grit range give that a try. :) 220 is the finest I have. I will take a trip to the home depot tomorrow and get some 1000 gr...

Did the filament previously line up and had stopped lining up? If so, your filament drive is wearing out. You can fudge it by turning the motor inside a plastic mount as insta said.
