Re: printing filament with tungsten

Sent an order to MakerGear for brass and steel nozzles 0.35 and 0.5 in number :) - will see how these will work in practice. Thanks for great discussion!

printing filament with tungsten

Hi, I am planning to buy M2 for printing tungsten filament (ABS) from gmass for radiation shielding (medical radiator beam attenuation for intensity modulated therapy on mice). One of the issues that came out from the discussion with gmass engineer is rapid wear of the nozzle. So here are the questi...

Re: a stronger material

Either eSUN's ePA, or cast it with polyurethane resin.
Did you mean ePC ? Can't find the material online...

Will try ePC - thanks !

Re: printer enclosure

Ive moved printer power supply inside the enclosure. Made arduino based temperature monitor.
Some preliminary numbers: temperature at the bottom - 34C at the top 38C (room 21C, table at 90C, hot end 245C), enclosure fan half rpm.
imo 40C is OK temperature for electronics, not sure about mechanics.

a stronger material

Hi All, I need a material to print my fridge's door railing holder. First holder I made was form PETG, after 2 month the holder broke. (I actually was impressed that it got broken perpendicular to printing direction ). Now I made an ABS unit - lets see. I ordered madesolid PET+ which is claimed to b...

Re: printer enclosure

How does it hold up with regards to dust protection though? Does the acrylic seem to attract dust?
Hard to say - after few days of use - dust is not visible. I guess some anti-static may help as well - let see. What is really cool for home user - area around printer is clean from plastic debris.

printer enclosure

Hi everybody, I am building an enclosure for M2 to deal with noise, smell and get less print warping - in that order. So I made an acrylic glass box 24''x24''x19'' with 92 mm fan on top and window exhaust (3''). No air intake until now - I am relying on doors which are not super tight. While I am wa...

Re: Best material for Lego parts

If somebody interested - PETG is definitely a better material for LEGO than PLA, even at 0.2 layer it is way more precise than PLA with 0.16 however, there is an issue with overhangs, which PLA does better there is a good post here - http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2593 - but still a...
