Re: Extrusion calibration
You were right Jim. Again. LOL! I'm not sure what the problem was, I re-leveled, re-did the cubes and still had the problem. Nozzle was reading .005mm at center of bed. Finally got frustrated and just started turning the Z screw, printing, turning, printing until it just seemed to fall into place. W...

Re: Extrusion calibration
Thanks Jim. So even though the cube walls are coming out to the correct measurements, my gap would still be off?jimc wrote:bed gap is too big.

Re: Extrusion calibration
I just printed the cube Nozzle Diameter: 0.35 Extrusion Multiplier: 0.83 Extrusion Width (manual): 0.44 First Layer Height: 100% First Layer Width: 100% First Layer Speed: 50% When I print it the cube wall reads right at .44mm and the height is at 2.0 using a 0.15 offset. Now when I try printing a p...

Re: 3-Axis Cable Chain Upgrade
Finito! Thanks again jhaupt for a really neat project! I included a little video showing the motion. Just waiting now on a coil to make the harnesses behind the control box look neater. Only change I made was to add one more link to the "Y" axis chain. When extended all the way forward it was a litt...

Re: 3-Axis Cable Chain Upgrade
Construction ahead... speeding fines doubled!...
Definitely a labor intensive modification, but should really extend the life of the harness.

Re: 3-Axis Cable Chain Upgrade
Hi Justine, I found an error in the parts list. The end pieces for the chain are .5" wide with the part number given and the chain itself is .9" wide so they don't match. The chain looks kind of wide, can you confirm that it's the chain part number that is wrong so I can order the correct one? I did...

Re: M2 24volt model Conversion to 2 12v Fans in Parallell
this is a good write up but i also have to ask.....would it not be easier to just use 40mm 24v fans in parallel? Yes Jim, but I haven't been able to find any quieter fans than the Noctua 12 volts and they don't seem to make them in 24 volt version yet. If there is a quieter 24v out there, then yes ...

Re: M2 24volt model Conversion to 2 12v Fans in Parallell
Looks good! I'll add what I said to you in an email, which is that the same converter is great to use for LED strips, which are usually rated 12V. I don't suppose that the fans draw enough power for thermal considerations to be relevant, but make sure it isn't getting warm enough to make the double...

M2 24volt model Conversion to 2 12v Fans in Parallell
First off, thanks to Ed Niesley for suggesting this. I figured I'd document my experience in case it helps other. NOTE: This installation was done on a 24 volt Makergear M2 with the Marlin board shown. If you have a different board these instructions may not apply to you. Also remember to unplug the...
