Re: Is the v4 hot end all metal?

Filament is honestly the biggest variable in 3d printing. I know that is quite obvious, but sometimes, unrealized. I try for the most part to use the same brand of filament if possible. Most of the worst clogs have happened from using a random filament, where the temps were hard to get right. Some f...

Re: Is the v4 hot end all metal?

Here is what I would do, and actually do when this happens. 1) Remove the hotend from the printer. There is a very good chance of snapping the neck/barrel off the hotend if you do not. (Ask me how I know. ) 2) Remove the nozzle. 3) Connect the hotend wires and turn the heat on, and you should ...

Re: Move Z-Endstop to the bottom

One of the advantages in my opinion is the ability to adjust bed gap in a non-mechanical way. The old way would require getting out the wrench and moving the bolt in a way without any measurement. Now I can get it close, print a calibration cube, determine how far I'm off, enter that difference into...

Re: Help with printing water tight container.

I hate to say something is impossible, but its very improbable. I have made many vases, with all different settings, none of them have ever been waterproof. All made from PLA. I have done very thick bottoms, doing like 10-15 solid bottom layers. Have tired multiple walls, with high infill. Again, do...

Re: Nozzle Life?

Yes, .6 Z Lift. Its not hitting on travel, it hits during extrusion of the next layer.

Re: Nozzle Life?

I am noticing that at times my nozzle is running into the previous layer. I think this is due to me having a high level of infill outlap, and thus having "extra" extrusion. The problem I have in lowering that is it ends up leaving gaps in my first layer. Any thoughts on a solution? My extrusion mult...

Re: Poor Print quality and Error message

Personally I would remove the nozzle and check it for a blockage. Extrusion seems to be one issue, and cooling another. I never print abs, but in those pics where the outer perimeter is curved looks like excessive heat. Personally I would just print something small and basic and just see how that lo...
