Re: Macro Program skipping around?

Hi ednisley, The second G-code (in the attached file) is the motion of the machine after hitting the Macro button in the Machine control panel. With the exception of the Z50 move being run "out of turn", everything else runs as programmed. It's not the type of issue that will keep me up at night, if...

Re: A Heat Chamber for the M2

Hi Mike, Just checking in with you to see if the cabinet helped out on the cracking and warping issues with the ABS ? If it solved your problems I may try to build one for my printer. Thanks, Kent Sorry for the delay. I've still been printing with PLA, but I'll be starting a project soon that will ...

Re: Macro Program skipping around?

Huh, warming up the motors is something I'd never heard of before now. And, I wonder if Marlin is being too smart for its own good. Marlin does "look-ahead" and path combining of moves to keep speeds up, and I wonder if its' just ignoring some moves since it doesn't see any extrusion? You can proba...

Macro Program skipping around?

Hi, I've written a G-Code program for one of the Macro buttons (in the S3D control panel) whose purpose is to warm the motors up before printing in the AM, or after a long wait. Unfortunately, I've had an issue which baffles me and I was hoping one of the members here could shed some light on the is...

Re: This years Valentines Gift

If it were me, I'd split the top spire at the last platform and just print the top with many skirt layers to form a shell to allow the thin bits to cool between layers. What temperatures are you running at? I've found very little stringing at 225 for PLA with 1mm retraction at 3000 mm/min. Lower te...

Re: This years Valentines Gift

THANKS jsc. At the moment I'm attempting to print using 3 different "processes" in S3D, each with parameters set for it's particular section. Just out of curiosity, what software do you use to modify or tweak .stl files? I have Solidworks 2014 and Rhino5 (90 day evaluation), the later being a better...
