Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

I walk over and clip it to the bed. That's it. (unless you count the ritualistic hoodoo dance) Maybe that's my problem-- I'm not doing the right dance. :) In the zebra topic someone mentioned oil from your skin caused adhesion issues and recommended going over it with alcohol before printin...

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

Not sure what to do here... At the moment, my z stop is perfect. When I slide the extruder to the left or right of the bed, the feeler gauge won't even slide between the nozzle and the plate. I followed the instructions that came with the plate-- spun it on a flat surface, black side down spun easie...

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

What's your usual "prep the zebra plate for printing" ritual? Go over it with alcohol? Quick rub all over with scotchbrite? Something else?

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

...How often do you find filaments measure different? Every single time. Does changing filament diameter in your slicer actually effect other settings? Yep. It affects the rate of extrusion. Based on the zebra thread, it seems like you guys are still using heat with this plate. I see 40c mentioned ...

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

Got a zebra plate in the mail today. About to redo the z stop and bed leveling. Based on the zebra thread, it seems like you guys are still using heat with this plate. I see 40c mentioned in the thread. Did you do the zstop/bed leveling with the bed cold? 40c? Higher? I've been printing on glass at ...

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

 From the Extrusion Clibration Guide - Step 0: measure your filament thickness at several points with calipers and take the average. Enter it as the filament diameter in your slicer ("Other" tab in Simplify3D). I saw that. I was just curious about a few things.. How often do you find filament...

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

Do you guys ever get filament spools that aren't 1.75mm? I got a spool of translucent purple PLA from MakerGear and I'm measuring it in various areas like the extruder calibration thread says. I've measured various spots from the start of the spool to about 2 feet in and it's not consistent at all. ...

I was reading that topic. Now that you've used it for a while, do you have to do anything to maintain it after prints? what settings do you typically use for PLA?

Anything I should know about using it before I order? I'm tempted.

Re: First print-- issues with tallthin.g from the SD card...

Freezing wouldn't even get the piranha off the glass. I had to really work to get it off, breaking it's moveable tail and jaw in the process. I gotta find another way than glue stick. Do you guys have a method for hairspray that controls the mist? I was reading the threads about the other plates. I'...
