Re: possibly failing mosfet?

i would preheat thigns, and watch the graph, and move some wires around. also just monitor it while it is just idle and preheated. if its a bad wire / connector, you should be able to reproduce it by wiggling wires. if its a bad thermistor, should go wonky while idle and preheated. i don't wanna sca...

Re: ABS prints are slightly bent.

Well the main reason I am using ABS is because that's what I have been using. So it's what I am familiar with. I WAS a bit ABS fan.... i'm hooked on PETG now.. give it a try.. i would opt to print a large print with PETG over fighting ABS. I've not tried solvent welding with it yet though, PETG is ...

Re: PEI Bed Surface

The general idea is to have the Z-axis switch sense the top of the platform, rather than a bolt off to the side that requires constant putzing to adjust. i have a variation on what ed is doing. i am using an ir sensor (would technically work with a magnetic probe or a switch) to sense both the z=0 ...

Re: PEI Bed Surface

I've managed to get my hands on a remnant piece of.25" 2300 the plan is to use it like i do the mic6 boro or zebra plate and just clamp it to the hbp. I've not gotten around to cutting it to size yet, i should end up with two 8x10 pieces. i did price out 1 custom cut 8x10 piece of .25" 2300 they wan...

Re: ABS prints are slightly bent.

I'm not sure i have an answer, just passing along some information.. hope it is helpful since the upper layers cool and contract last plus the HBP keeps the bottom layers also hot and playable, you get uneven contraction when cooling... you can try and mitigate the effect by keeping the whole build ...

Re: M2's spotted in 3ders.org article!

I don't buy into the cost of labor in this case.... if you spend your whole print time tending to the printer, then there is something wrong. i would imagine for a small business, the same person is printing the jars, filling them and boxing them. so even if you can print a set of jars in 4 hours......

Re: M2 Z nut part number

when i replaced my z stepper, since i used a stepper that was slightly taller then the original, i also mounted my nut on the top, just like in the picture above to give a little extra clearance to make up for the little height i lost with the taller stepper. Nothing special about the nut other then...
