Re: nema17 dampers
Let me know if they work, if you ordered a ten pack and don't need all ten let me know! Those little converters look like they would be pretty handy. Do the fans need anything special since they use 3 wires? I see some extra cables, is there an adapter included? Can't wait to hear about your result...

Re: nema17 dampers
These little guys? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608033 Not too expensive really. I will have to look more into the wiring though! Yes that's them, but you have to run 12 volts to each one, they don't work good in series. These are the power adapters I ordered on eBay, ha...

Re: Viki 1.0s
Geez! I'd rather pay $40 just to hear how you happen to have 13 Viki's just "lying" around! Edit: Have you tried eBay? You'd probably get rid of them fast there at that price. I'd suggest 44.99 with free USPS shipping and 30 day return policy (buyer pays shipping). Include all the major pr...

Re: E3Dv6, jimc's extruder and excessive cooling
I haven't had any issues with mine, been using it almost a year now. I do have to PID tune a couple of times when I switch hotends usually. One gets it close, the second gets it much flatter. Also make sure your hotend is completely cold before you tune it, you probably know that but I mention it ju...

Re: nema17 dampers
Right now it sounds like my extruder fan is the loudest thing! You have a link to the fans? are they a drop in replacement? Not sure what size you use. I'm using 40mm x 10mm Noctua fans. You would need to replace the extruder and the case fan since they are in series and use those buck supplies tha...

Heh! Wait until you change the fans. Now my power supply sounds like a freight train, that's my next project.

Re: My Volcano Needs a Tune-Up
gotta love big nozzles lol. i have been running a .6 now most of the time. without the volcano of course. the .6 gives good prints and speeds things up. i do always find myself tweaking and fighting blobs etc. i am being critical though. most stuff comes out good but not like with a .35 or .4 nozzl...

Re: My Volcano Needs a Tune-Up
I slowed it down from 60mm to 40mm and raised the temperature by 5 degrees. But I brought the temperature back down now, I don't think that had anything to do with it. Doing another set now after some other tweaks.jsc wrote:What was the second layer issue?

Re: My Volcano Needs a Tune-Up
Getting there! Still needs tweaking. My real concern was the holes and they are actually coming out great. Went from 4-1/2 hours with the .35mm nozzle at .3mm height to 1hr 50min with the .8mm nozzle at .6 layer height. That now means that instead of 5 per 24 hour period I can do 12! It's almost lik...
