OMG... what a mess..... Now realize, this printer sat pretty much unused for 2 years and saw some light usage when it was first purchased all due to a technical issue recently resolved..... (To get the last of the gunk off the plate - pick up a Magic Eraser at the grocery store next time you go. It's a micro-abrasive melamine sponge, and the little things are absolute miracles when slightly dampened.) tried this tonight, made the bed all glossy where i used it, i dont think thats a go...

i found some grease at the house....
technicly its NLGI #2 - which is wheel bearing grease.
its called "x-tra heavy duty grease" by lucas oil.
reading the label at least, i think it will work fine.

good thread... more mods :) .. actualy good i read this as my gearbox has no real time on it at all so good i do this now. i have very similar teflon grease to super lube i use on all my printer z axsis's - similar but good to 650f. was sold by radio shack way back when under the archer brand name a...

A heads up for anyone considering the board i used, the MKS SBASE. There is 1 issue with it, in that the temerature readings fluctuate. This seems to be an issue that the manufacturer has acknolaged and is working to correct. note: the real smoothieboard, or other clones do not have this issue. from...
