Re: some basic questions on settings and scripts

In the G-Code Tab of S3D is a Global Z-Offset slot - that is where the people who need to do that would do it. If you have the new Rev. E machine, you do not need to do that . How do I find out if I have a Rev. E machine? where do I find the exact specs of my machine? thanks again from this novice!

Re: some basic questions on settings and scripts

Hi, I have a few basic questions: A. I have a V4 makergear preassembled, bought about 1 month ago. How do I know which hot end I need? You need the V4 hotend. I am using S3D and find it to be great but daunting. I am trying to follow the forum's instructions on printing with PETG. B. How do I add s...

Re: Getting started 2 questions

I generally put a filament retract in my ending GCode so it pulls 10mm of plastic out of the hotend. It's pretty straightforward, and lets you keep the plastic loaded while still allowing for you to manually tug it from the cold extruder later (since it's not cemented into the hotend). trouble getting quality print

Hello, I was having much trouble getting a quality print, many times corners or parts would peel up and later get hit with the hot end when passing over. I tried different solutions (glue stick, hairspray) and now have just installed a PEI sheet on the glass bed. I relaunched expecting a huge improv...

Re: Getting started 2 questions

Hello Insta, regarding your retract code, where do I add this and how? If I look at my end script from within simplify3d it says: M104 S0 ; turn off extruder M140 S0 ; turn off bed G91 ; relative mode G1 Z10 ; lift 10mm G90 ; absolute mode G28 X0 ; home X axis M84 ; disable motors where would I inse...

Re: Getting started 2 questions

thanks again Insta,

but is the Viki the same as the LCD display that MakerGear sells? or different?
How are they different if so?
Which is better?

Which is easy to learn and intuitive?

thanks
