Re: Third layer problems
Yeah, that's white too. Might want to up the temp a little. White filament needs about 5-7 degrees more juice. Yes, but ...this is one of those insanely frustrating times where you've been printing with this filament for MONTHS and NOTHING ELSE HAS CHANGED and SUDDENLY YOU CAN'T PRINT. (Still, what...

Re: Third layer problems
I'm pretty sure the clog is cleared-- it's generally easy to tell if anything's obstructing the filament, since it will tend to come out of the nozzle at an angle, rather than hang straight down. (At least in my experience.) I tried reducing the print speed from 4400mm/min to 3800mm/min, which got m...

Third layer problems
OK, I'm stumped on this one. I had a nozzle clog recently, so I removed the nozzle, cleared the clog, and put the nozzle back, and went through The Drill: 1. Warm up nozzle and bed to operating temps. 2. Center bed. 3. Insert 0.15mm feeler gauge between nozzle and bed. 4. Loosen nozzle retaining scr...

Re: Probably sending the M2 back (regretfully)
I share your frustration, as I went through somewhat similar problems. It was several months before I really had a handle on the M2, its capabilities, and how to tweak the various settings to achieve good results. As insta notes, there are severe limitations on the physical objects you can create by...

Re: Bed surface temps with PEI on MIC6 plate?
Um, no. Good point. I will try that.sthone wrote:Unless your having bed adhesion issues I wouldn't worry to much about a few degrees.
Did you measure the actual bed without the plate to see if that's actually accurate?

Bed surface temps with PEI on MIC6 plate?
It occurred to me that the temperature of the surface of my build plate-- one of the thick aluminum plates with PEI-- might be a bit lower than what the bed temp sensor says it is. Sure enough, with the bed temp set at 60 degrees, my IR thermometer says the surface temp is just under 54 degrees. Doe...

Bed clips with aluminum bed: how necessary?
I just finally figured out a printing problem where an item printed near the top of my print bed wasn't getting a good first layer: the adhesion was so bad the filament would be dragged around by the head rather than sticking. I'd measure the clearance multiple times, washed and prepped the bed surf...

Jules, is there a specific cleaning filament that you recommend?

Re: Change hot ends for ABS?
But getting back to my original question: does it make sense to have separate hot ends for PLA and ABS?
