Re: Air tight / Seal a print?

Oh I just got what you meant I did not know thin epoxy existed like that off the shelf. I will have to look into that.

I just read that fiberglass resin could be an option

Re: Air tight / Seal a print?

Hmmm... I don't see how I can send epoxy right to end of every channel without blocking any of them if it is not diluted, as epoxy is pretty viscous and my air channels are 0.15'' in diameter at their end. Maybe if I put just a little bit right after I mix while it is still pretty liquid and "push" ...

Re: Translucent PETG

Thanks Jules! I am running into some issues though. I was worried this could happened and should have run some trials first, but I was optimistic. My air channels are sadly not air tight. I need to find a way to solve this. You can see what I am talking about here: http://forum.makergear.com/viewtop...

Air tight / Seal a print?

I just designed and printed a tool that will pick up labels and parts in an injection molding machine. 1.PNG I have three main air channels into that thing (Red, green and blue are each of the channels.) 2.PNG What I was worried about happened though: the internal air channels are not air tight. Whe...

Re: Translucent PETG

Here's my 70 hour print in PETG!

That thing reallys is filled with air channels. I am going to use it to insert labels into injection molding molds and then pick up parts.

Re: Translucent PETG

I just updated the Calibration Cross, btw. Glad to see someone using it. Hope you find it helpful. http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3885&p=29102#p29102 Yeah the first time I designed one with multiple holes of different diameters. But I quickly found that the shrink factor was not the...

Re: Translucent PETG

I think I just nailed it! Listening to you guys and reading got me conviced there should not be much difference between opaque and translucide PETG. So I went back to the parameters that got me good results with the orange PETG, and got what you can see below. I did not change a single thing from th...

Re: Translucent PETG

Just did another run at 210C. I turned the fan off at about the 6th layer. It seemed to me at that time that the air blowing was flipping over some of the filament layed down. It did not prevent that filament from cutting those corners though... All those strings/cut corners are far beyond the 6th l...

Re: Translucent PETG

Checked! I adjusted the filament diameter to 1.70 mm in SD3, which is what I measured on the filament. It seemed pretty low to me, but that was the measurement. I just went over and it still between 1.70-1.71 mm. Some points at 1.72mm, but mostly 1.70-1.71 mm. It could have increased in the middle o...

Translucent PETG

I just began using PETG. So far I used: - Orange opaque from filaments.ca - Red opaque from MG Chemicals. Juicer1.PNG Juicer2.PNG I had really good results with both. Just look at that Orange Juicer: No clean up at all on what you see. But, I just began to use translucent PETG: I just designed that ...
