Best Failure, 2015
As promised, the first thing I made with my replacement nozzle was a display for the one that blew it's tip & went from .35 to 3.0. I thought a trophy seemed appropriate.

Re: Nozzle went from .35 to 3.0
Or.. I wonder if S3D will let you set the nozzle size at 3 mm, it would really speed things up ;) The thought did cross my mind very briefly. Just out of curiosity, have you been using any metal infused filaments? No -- I have a bronzefill sample that I've refrained from using out of fear it ...

Re: Love ABS but keep breaking parts or glass when cooled
Had that happen too, now I'm using Kapton tape with hairspray. (I rarely have to reapply the hairspray.) If I wait for it to cool, ABS usually slides right off; I don't even have to scrape. PLA and PETg often take some convincing -- but worst case scenario, I tear the tape and have to reapply -- muc...

Re: Nozzle went from .35 to 3.0
Yeah, I'll be keeping this one as a souvenir. Of course, that means now I need to design and print a nice display for it...

Re: Nozzle went from .35 to 3.0
Update: It's not often that an interaction with a company's tech support makes me want to buy MORE from that company. I have a .5 nozzle I hadn't had the courage to try using yet, so I figured this is the perfect excuse to make myself attempt to put it on this hot end, and just order another h...

Nozzle went from .35 to 3.0
Honestly not sure how this happened. I had a failed PLA print -- just 215C, part way through the print the nozzle apparently clogged (guessing a wide spot in the filament? Only measured at 1.8 at the spot. It's esun, I'm half way through the roll & it's been good so far.) Retracted the PLA, put some...

Re: Filament buying guide (brands, where to buy etc)
For those in Europe, Dimension Alley in Berlin (a 3D printing cafe -- yes, you can get a pastry & coffee while printing -- https://dimensionalley.com/) sells and ships PLA from http://3dk.berlin/ -- which you can now also buy directly from. (Haven't tried that yet, selling directly is new for them.)...

Re: Where to get good filament in EU (Germany?)
I've been quite happy with the PLA I've gotten via Dimension Alley (www.dimensionalley.com) in Berlin -- they're very nice, and helpful, and responsive. The cool part: They'll actually match any Pantone color. (Min. 5kg order for that service.) I've just gone with what they've had in stock though, a...

Re: New member of the MakerGear family...
Another vote here for Fusion 360 -- it's not perfect, but works pretty well. FreeCAD isn't the most user-friendly thing out there, but it's got some aspects to it I like too. Also take a look at OpenSCAD -- sometimes, just typing a few lines of code is the fastest & easiest way. :) Avoid Sketchup, t...
