Re: Filament Diameter - Does it have to be 1.75mm

gotta watch out when you're shopping.
On amazon usually I put "1.75" in my searches; like: "PLA Gray 1.75" and that will give me the shopping results i'm looking for.

Benchy: Is this a Slic3r problem?

So I got some new filament for a new project, Hatchbox PLA gray. I can't make odds of this defect on this Benchy and I think it's an inherent issue with Slic3r. 20170111_213255936_iOS.jpg The artifact is a bulge noticeable on the bow 1cm from the bottom. I want to think that it is an issue with gap ...

If you're really careful, you can peel back the tape and sneak it out at night while everyone is asleep. Just make sure you don't print anything that takes 8 hours+

Re: What 3d Modeling Software are we using?

So you will quickly realize that you will outgrow tinkercad when you cant get fine control over parameters. It's still good for rough shapes and models, but if you want to build anything that is purpose built, then you will want a real CAD package. I'm currently using Fusion 360. It's based off of a...

Re: If speed were adjustable by factors other than layer

if you are concerned about bulgy corners, adding a small round to each corner on the xy plane helps. The printer will try its damnedest to get a sharp corner, but plastic doesn't play well. If the printer takes each corner as a round, it's a lot more workable.

Re: Rev E kit available?

There have been quite a few incremental upgrades over the years, so there is no kit which satisfies all. If you are unsure of what hardware you need to buy, call makgergear and give them your serial number, they will be able to advise you from there. If you purchased your M2 this year, you likely al...

Re: Maximum Clearance Height for latest MakerGear M2 in S3d

There have been more than a few prints that had many small parts that I wanted: A) to print in one job for less intervention time B) improve small parts quality. On the V3b, there was about 5mm more clearance in the z-direction which enabled me to take care of a lot of small parts projects, the V4 h...

Re: Maximum Clearance Height for latest MakerGear M2 in S3d

I would do what Ed did. the modern revisions have reduced the clearance height to pretty much 10mm or less. Previous versions had a bit more room. With this discussion opened, is there any chance that we could get a specialty hot end barrel that is extra long. like 5cm long? this way we can utilize ...

I set mine to 0.5 mm for very dense support. it would be close to 50% infill density.
