Re: A good start
7. Next, heat the nozzle with the lighter and use the drill/pin to push the filament out of the rear of the nozzle. Wow, for future reference: Don't use a drill bit , but if you are a stupid noob- go ahead. If you are even dumber, spin the drill bit. Furthermore, do not trust what is written on the...

Re: Software to include with the M2?
Part of the reason I had early success and immediate printing was the S3D software. I appreciate the open source efforts, but I needed and wanted instantly working software just to make sure that the hardware worked. I bought S3D immediately, before the machine arrived. Rick, I would hope that the t...

Re: A good start
Interesting note to my previous post about temps. I have been having some unusual printing issues and have felt like I would need to make adjustments to the software every print to get good prints. The prints are looking a bit "starved" of plastic, so I would keep upping the temps to get good flow o...

Re: Favorite way to prep your bed surface for printing PLA?
P.S. Will, I recognize your avatar from the DLG threads over on RCGroups... Nice to see you here. Haha, yep that's me! I haven't messed around over there for a while (especially DLG, since I herniated two discs in my back). I still keep a small quadcopter around for playing. Man, if I had one of th...

Re: Favorite way to prep your bed surface for printing PLA?
As far as the hairspray, glue stick, and glue goes, what kind of finish does it leave on the print? I would assume it is a bit matte.

Favorite way to prep your bed surface for printing PLA?
What is your current favorite way to ensure your bed is prepped for a good PLA print and what other techniques did you try before you got there? Most of the time, I slide a small putty knife or razor under the print or the tape layer, but this is what I have tried so far. 1. Bare glass: I clean the ...

Re: A good start
Great prints. What are you using for the white and shiny prints (bust, vase, whale, octopus). I am using the Makergear white, transluscent blue, and black filament. I am trying the natural color today and have blue and red on order. All prints are done at a medium (.20mmm layer height) using an M2 ...

Re: A good start
I don't have millions of friends on facebook, but posting this pic is how to make your Facebook page blow up on a Friday night. This week I have watched the first time many people have ever touched a 3d printed thing or even imagined that you could do such a thing. You might recognize some favorites...

It would also be good if you could check the box that allows the post# to be displayed in threads. It is great to be able to refer someone to post "#199 in the Tips thread". You can use this info to link to a specific post that may be buried deep in another thread. It's not so important now, but wil...
