Mine has support so I think it will be ok. But I will reprint the base if yours works out.
Thanks for taking it on modifying it for a M2

Re: Printing with my new spool holder.
Do not put the lube on it at all. I sanded the base down as they suggested. It actually spins too freely. The vibration from the printer can make the spool spin some on its own. This is not what you want. I tightened mine up some to make some friction so it will not spin so freely. I was thinking t...

Re: Printing with my new spool holder.
Yes I agree a nice M2 base would be nice.
I tightened it up some the other night to generate some resistance. I printed with it today and it was just night resistance it is working really well now.

Re: Kickstarter build plate
After printing maybe 20 or so prints in the new setup (1095 BuildTak ) it is not near as good as it was in the beginning.
It is almost like it bubbles up just a little bit so this makes the first layer difficult. Once you have the first layer down it still sticks amazingly well.

Re: Printing with my new spool holder.
Were you able to print the spool holder piece without supports like the instructions mention? That is a good question but I had just printed something with support before I printed this. So I ended up printing it with support. It is almost runs to freely I need to tighten it up a little after this ...

Re: Printing with my new spool holder.
No fear of it tipping over M2 is much heavier. It does look big on there. This will be so much nicer not having to worry about running out so fast now.jimc wrote:haha spool is massive. it looks like it will tip the m2 over on the left.
We print alot ABS and this 3kg spool is really going to help.

Printing with my new spool holder.
I just got a new 3kg 1.75 ABS but I did not have a big enough spool holder for it. I found this one http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119488 It is a really good design. It fits M2 without any screws. It makes this 3kg spool spin very free. I will not have to change spools so often now. On the first p...

Re: Kickstarter build plate
My mic6 might need better glass beading maybe I will try the sander idea. The Elmer’s glue stick disappearing purple on glass or mic6 is great stuff. The build surface have to be cool it will not work applied to a warm surface. I do a nice cross hatch making sure I don’t miss any area where I print....

Re: Kickstarter build plate
I have printed on this setup for a few days now. I really like it for ABS it is the best stuff I have used so far. I am printing @100C and the prints stick really well. As soon as it is done I remove the clips and flex it to poop off the prints. Then I put it back down wipe with alcohol and heat it ...
