Re: World Maker Faire

My husband and I were there too, on Sunday. It's funny, we came away feeling very much the same way. The combined qualities of everyone defaulting to the kid/family friendly, there not being anything we really haven't seen before, and the sense that there where fewer independent makers showing off t...

Re: Correcting horizontal banding (on other printer) in gcod

Thanks both,

Tim, I've been thinking that for a while and just been waiting for Simplify3D (or someone) to try incorporating it. It should be possible to characterize a machine well enough to do that!

Correcting horizontal banding (on other printer) in gcode

Hello, I've been commissioning a homebrew large format printer for a couple months now, pulling my hair out with redesigns to fix various mechanical issues as I go. This has nothing to do with the M2, but I thought people might be interested. The machine in question is large (24" square build surfac...

Re: Extruder Acceleration - Holy Crap!

This is some incredible work zemlin. Great, great work. I'm an M2 user but lately I'm commissioning a scratch-built large-format machine, and have been banging my head against a wall with some heretofore unseen artifacts. After weeks of eliminating potential causes, one of the only things I left lef...

Concertina Upgrade

These are replacement end plates for a Concertina Connection "Jackie" concertina. I posted these as examples of Hatchbox Wood PLA over in the "insta's filaments that work" thread, but my domain just changed and those links are dead, and it may not have been the best place to show off the filament an...

Re: instas "filaments that work on the M2" thread

Followup to my XT-CF20 posting: It's not as stiff as PLA but more stiff than PETG, and it's strangely ductile. I've also lowered the bed temperature to 50C and will try slowing the print speed, as even with high tension on the extruder there are problems with slipping. Just ordered Proto-Pasta carbo...

Re: instas "filaments that work on the M2" thread

Filament name: Hatchbox Wood Filament vendor: Hatchbox It was hard to improve on the normal PLA settings. Observations: It doesn't look like wood until you sand it, but when you do what you have is , for all intents and purposes, wood. The print quality pre-sanding is excellent and prints seem to be...
