You're making us M2 owners envious. :)

Re: MAKERGEAR M3-ID reviews

I got a roll of high-temperature double-sided sticky tape, which was a bit tricky to put down because it comes in widths of a couple of inches and needs to be laid down in strips. Keeping it from wrinkling is a pain. I ended up with it being almost perfect except for a wrinkle at the far back edge o...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

He is running with PETg, mentioned it in the first post. I should have thought to mention to keep the fans off. But I have always done that, and PETg still has major issues with delamination on and around overhangs. It's my major complaint about PETg, but the stuff is superior to PLA in just about e...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

Still hard to see from that orientation. Does the bottom of the strap have a rounded edge? I expect the delamination occurs where the support doesn't reach as close to the strap as it does on the strap's bottom surface, so the outer perimeters are not as well supported. If they sag just a little bit...

Re: MAKERGEAR M3-ID reviews

That's what I did, ordered a bare aluminum plate from insta, and glued the PEI to it. It is the best printing surface I have ever worked with.

Re: Extruder 1 not a valid extruder S3D error message

Wow, you were still using the v3b? I guess it was a big step above the v3a (the one with the ceramic blob) that I started out with, so not as much incentive to switch to the v4 when it first came out. Anyway, the issue is unlikely to be a cable issue. The machine gives very little feedback to S3D, a...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

An image would be helpful. Use the "Upload attachment" tab on the box below the box where you type your post. PETg is pretty bad at overhangs in general. I tend to look for ways I can print to avoid the need for support at all. Often printing in two parts and gluing them together is better than prin...

Re: Extruder 1 not a valid extruder S3D error message

What does your S3D setup look like? I remember having to do several things, in particular doing "Add Extruder" in the "Extruder" tab. I named my extruders "Left" and "Right", and set "Extruder Toolhead Index" to "Tool 0" for "Left", and "Tool 1" for "Right". I'm guessing that you don't have the Extr...

Re: The M3-ID vs the M2 Rev E

Thanks for the photo shoot!

Next we need a comparison to an M2 with the extruder fans re-built in the style of the M3. . . Time to work on some M2 upgrade designs. . .

Re: Tool Change script for S3D

Can you share a picture of your single-nozzle dual extruder? It sounds interesting. How well does it work in practice?
