Re: In the middle of a enclosure build, need some advice
OK guys, box is complete and my first prints have come out. My prints are a lot better than no enclosure, but aren't perfect yet. With no insulation and no fan (haven't installed the fan yet) the temp gets to about 100F inside while printing. Is this hot enough? If not, what should the ambient tempe...

Re: In the middle of a enclosure build, need some advice
Thanks for the insight. I have already gone past the point of no return (time and money) on my custom enclosure so I will be sticking with it. Any insight on the ventilation fan? 120mm vs 40mm? CFM?

In the middle of a enclosure build, need some advice
So I'm half way through a enclosure build for my M2 for better abs printing just using parts from home depot and frys. Basic wood enclosure with plexiglass door with lighting, nothing too fancy. I did buy a 120mm computer case fan for the exhaust to put at the top but I was wondering if that fan siz...

Starting to print with PETG, running into new issue, help?
My prints otherwise come out just fine but I'm running into an issue with thing melted strands are connecting between different areas inside the parts. I can easily clean these up post print but I was wondering if there was any way to prevent this? here is a pic: https://s4.postimg.org/tbqjvacd9/pic...

Re: PLA curls very badly upon extruding
New nozzle arrived and I have it installed. PLA now extrudes straight as an arrow so yes apparently I did damage the nozzle. Lesson learned

Re: PLA curls very badly upon extruding
So I torched the nozzle and got it very clean, however I still have the same result with the extruded PLA immediately curling into a ball and caking up the nozzle. It looks like I might have damaged the nozzle? I did however tweak the extruder temperature, bed temperature, and z height JUST ENOUGH t...

Re: PLA curls very badly upon extruding
Thanks guys, I went ahead and just ordered 2 extra nozzles just incase but I'll try to blowtorch the nozzle to see if I can clear some blockage is there there. Paint thinner does seem to do something to pla however since after I soak it, it does seem to come lose. Maybe I didnt get everything though...

PLA curls very badly upon extruding
I have been using my M2 for about 6-8 months problem free and have gone through about 6 filament reels so far. The latest reel for some reason clogged the nozzle after the 2nd print (first print went just fine). I am using the V4 hotend BTW. It took muliple tries but I got the hot end clean after so...

Re: Best way to silkscreen on 3d printered boxes?
Having screen printed for 40+ years, I don't think that it's the best alternative here. Lack of flatness will take all of the fun out of it. Look into "pad printing" instead. It's better for irregular surfaces. Depending on your needs, relatively inexpensive equipment can be found on Ebay, or look ...

I would need to wipe off the non-cured paint with acetone, which would eat through PLA right?jsc wrote:How about using photoresist paint, similar to how you would etch a circuit board (without the etching). That should be high resolution enough.
