The other way to do it is convert your M2 to use a E3D extruder. There's a number of guys on here that have done the conversion.

Not sure what's in Zip Zap, but MEK will dissolve PLA. There's also no need to soak for days. Take the nozzle off and use a propane or mapp gas torch to reduce the clog to ashes.

If I remember correctly from my college days, the student version has full access to the entire software suite including FEA. Since the steppers are mounted on the top of the frame instead of at the bottom like the M2/M3, dual output steppers with shafts coming out both ends would do the trick. I've seen them used on CNC's where manual control is still an option. It might be hard to find or cost prohibitive since one outpu...

They dont. There's 2 separate X belts and X steppers. One extruder is attached to 1 belt and the other extruder on the other belt.jsc wrote:How does the independent dual extrusion work? How do the heads detach and reattach to the belt?
