is yours wired or wireless? maybe i was hitting the bw limit of the usb bus. mine was networked via wireless usb nic at the time.

you could always space the connectors at different lengths along the wire so they aren't all bunched up at one spot, but that's a tad bit more work.

yeah the heat is to get it to stick to glass. not having to heat up the bed saves time and electricity though. i placed an order and will let you all know how it turns out.

Has anyone used Buildtak? It's a thin sheet of material you can put on the bed which supposedly has much better adherence. They were at Makerfair today and had an M2 printing PLA without any heat on the bed at all. It is heat resistant though and can withstand typical bed temperatures. I think I'm g...

if your laptops are both connected via wireless, any file transfers are going to be slow between them unless all the wireless gear was purchased in the last few years (dual band, 802.11n or 802.11ac). with older hardware, only one wireless connection can be "talking" at a time, and with two laptops ...
