Re: Fix a gouged MIC6 Plate

If you can't get the scratch out completely, then you may just have to put a piece of PEI on it or flip it over. Using a stone will takes the high spots off, and leaves the valley. I was able to hand sand a similar scratch with mine, using very high grade sandpaper and a sanding sponge, but I wasn't...

Re: Extruder temp sensor issues and clogs?

http://makergear.wikidot.com/m2-hotend-assembly I guess there is no set screw for the older extruder. If you have an Multimeter you can check and it should read around 10k resistance around room temp. If you dont get a reading then you know for a fact its open and no good. If you get a infinity rea...

I never thought that when I started getting into smoking foods it would lead me into electronics and finally into 3d printing.

Re: Extruder temp sensor issues and clogs?

The sensor shouldn't be loose. There is a set screw on the side of the extruder block. A temp sensor usually don't go bad, unless somehow one of the wires break, then your printer would not print. The temp sensor is made up two different types of metals and is welded together.

Re: Custom BBQ wifi controller

If you hook it up to any charcoal or electric(ssr) smoker it will control the temperature within a few degrees, which all controlled via Internet or on the unit itself. It's called an Heatermeter, and is freely available build if one has the knowledge to solder. I have been building and customizing ...

Custom BBQ wifi controller

The reason why I decided to buy an 3d printer, was to be able to print cases and dampers for people I build BBQ controllers for. I did not want to continue to rely on others to print them and my quality is much much better with the M2. Here is the latest controller I built for a customer whom wanted...

Re: How to remove 3m glue from MIC6 and PEI

Yeah, I spent a hour or so last night, removing that gel. I put some oil in the acetone to try to keep the gel from sticking to everything it touches. Finally took a 2000 git sponge.

How to remove 3m glue from MIC6 and PEI

Is there a good solvent for removing the 3m glue? My PEI was coming unglued along the edge and I was able to get the PEI off with very little glue on it but its still on the MIC6 plate. I have used Acetone and it helps but it does not remove the glue very well, so I wonder if anybody had some sugges...
