Re: esun epa question

Markforged prints only in nylon, and they use a phenolic, unheated bed with Elmer's glue stick applied.

Re: MIC 6 plate and PEI

Plate temperature depends on the PLA you are using. I use 45C-60C for the PLAs I print. More importantly is to ensure your bed is CLEAN; I usually wipe it with acetone or glass cleaner. Secondly, ensure you are 'squishing' your first layer enough. You may try turning your Z-axis knob one click closer.

Re: Jumping into 3D printing from CNC

Thanks, guys. The main reason I'm interested in the dual extruder design is to print with support materials. Are there limitations on which main materials work with particular support materials?. E.g., Can I use PLA with ABS, nylon, or C.F. filament? PLA and ABS do not stick, so it depends on how t...

Re: Jumping into 3D printing from CNC

An enclosure would add significant expense with a limited gain. You can print most things with most any material without an enclosure; some designs using certain filaments will require an enclosure to print well. The cardboard box over the printer can suffice in those, (usually rare), situations. I ...

Re: What S3D Sees Before and After

101? I guess I was allowed to skip that class. Seven years printing with four different printers, and this was the first time I had seen this. I have used SolidWorks since 2001; not much experience with crappy, online CAD software.

What S3D Sees Before and After

I have been printing stuff through 3DHubs. Occasionally, I get files that look totally different once sliced by S3D. Does anyone know why this happens?

I tried to upload screenshots saved in PowerPoint, but they do not seem to be visible.(?)

Re: filament vault

Another thing you can add is three/four John Guest fittings in the lid. You can have tubing run from the fitting directly to your printer, and when not using a strand of filament, you can cap off the tube to prevent outside air from reaching the container. http://www.johnguest.com/products/drinks-di...

Re: Taulman Alloy 910 Profile?

This thread had been a good repository of filament success, (and some failure). viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1951&start=20
Please post to there as well and add any filament not already mentioned that you use.

Re: Watertight Vases - Are they possible

I have printed water-tight containers, made from polypropylene or nylon. I used 100% fill, no other setting changes. The sides were at least 0.100" thick.

Re: Single Outside Layer

I made this by creating two files in SolidWorks from my original. All I did was use the "Offset" command 0.4mm/0.016". When I printed it/them, S3D actually made two passes of the white. This is made from PLA; I will try nylon later. Now, if the laser cuts through the white layer...
