Re: Filament Drive Gear Worn Out by Carbon Filament

Just do not try to clear a clog with a torch, since it is, (presumably), heat treated.
Although, looking at the web site, the coating can supposedly take up to 1800C.

Re: CNC Laser cutter/engraver

I intermittently belong to a local 'maker space' that has three laser engravers/cutters, ($35/month). They are large, powerful, and accurate. (40-60 Watts, 24"x36"). It was a mild PITA to go to the class to learn how to use the machines, but it is well worth having professional-quality equipment ava...

Nope other way around.. stainless is not magnetic.
It depends; some is, some is not. Some can be cold-worked to make it magnetic.

Single Outside Layer

I have been trying to build aircraft switch covers for a while now. I found trying to print lettering just does not look good enough, however, a laser engraver does a great job. That still leaves the problem of contrasting color in the lettering. I made some that look great by painting a cover made ...

Re: Dual Extruder Alignment

I forgot to add one important step, when you set the toolhead offsets, Click the button to the left titled, "Apply toolhead offsets to G-code coordinates".

Re: Dual Extruder Alignment

If you are using S3D, go to the G-code tab and the Toolhead Offsets drop-down menu. Measure how far off your black is from the white and input those x-y numbers on Tool 1. It looks as if you will need several 0.010". It may take a few tries to get it perfect, but it can be done. Some people may even...

Re: What are the best flexible filaments?

This stuff is pretty good. It might be slightly stiffer and tougher than Ninjaflex and is definitely less expensive.

Re: 3DHubs

I am also on MakeXYZ, but have only received 1-2 orders. I had had several people send pictures of a device asking if I could make it. I always asked if they had an STL file, and said if not, it would cost about $100 to create one. I never heard back from any of them. Does anyone have any recommenda...
