Re: Nozzle temp drops during print
That happens with the PID autotune specifically. The autotune takes several minutes, during which point Marlin is unresponsive to inputs from the host software. The host software will continue to send "pings" to get things like hotend temperature and such, but they will get ignored. The ignoring isn...

Re: M2 here I come...
It'd have been a closer race between the UM1 and M2. I own both, and while the UM1 can slightly out-quality the M2 at times, the lack of ABS support and only just-recent bed upgrade holds it way back. The UM2 is effectively the same machine as the UM1 just prettier, with a crappier extruder. You mad...

Re: Seasoning a nozzle?
Yeah but PLA doesn't wipe off easily and leave no residue. I'm fine if I can do that trick where you extrude 100mm of PLA into a puddle on the bed and bury the nozzle in it, then break the PLA off once its cool (to clean the nozzle exterior), but I want it to actually come off. I tried this last nig...

Seasoning a nozzle?
Yes I am talking about that kind of seasoning -- using oil to create a hard, slick coating on the nozzle. There's a few things I'm wanting to accomplish with this, based on the success of my seasoning the cast iron skillet I own. I figure a precision machined stainless steel nozzle is approximately ...

Re: Junk Filaments and Moisture
Shoulda told me you wanted V3Bs, I have 3 I'm not going to be using  For what its worth, Taulman 618 does an amazing job of cleaning nozzles, if you use it in a cold pull. It's honestly worth buying a roll just for this. I was astonished the colors it was coming out with for several iterations....

Re: M2, new heater, fluctuating nozzle temp.
I ship a lot of fishing tackle to Canada and there's just no cheap way to do it. It's close to 30 bucks Priority Mail from the US into Canada for a 2 pound package. And that's bare cost with no wages added for the person doing the shipping. It's supposed to be fair trade between our countries, but ...

Re: world maker faire NY who is goin...
To all wondering, it took almost an entire 5lb spool. I bought a clearance one (lime green) from Ultimachine. I also had to make a table-mounted roller for it since the spool was too large to fit on the side of the M2. Wanna know a kicker? That was the second one. First one failed at NINETY GODDAMN ...

Re: world maker faire NY who is goin...
For what it's worth I did do a print that filled the M2's bed. It was a sand mold positive for a small gearbox. It weighed almost 2 kilograms when it was done and stood 6" tall, with something like a 7.5 x 9.5" footprint (I couldn't use skirt on the default settings without going off the bed). It to...

Re: world maker faire NY who is goin...
What would that even be? My M2 has been nothing if not startlingly reliable. Other M2 owners I've talked to in person can echo that. It's not the fastest -- the XY gantry printers take that. It's not the highest resolution -- the resin printers take that. It just works every. single. time. that I hi...
