Re: MakerGear is throwing sparks!

Today, during a print, the connector of the extruder motor was throwing sparks. After looking closely, the wires that connect to the connector and the relief point have been slowly breaking (likely from bending slightly a few thousand times over the past couple years). I'm a little surprised they d...

Re: 123D Design Shutting Down

If I remember correctly from my college days, the student version has full access to the entire software suite including FEA. The only limitation is any drawings created in the student version will have a watermark that says it's the student version and non-commercial use only. Solidworks also has ...

Re: Filament extrudes in spiral

A spiral is generally the sign of a blockage but if you have put in a new nozzle and filament that rules that out I guess. COuld you be trying to extrude too fast?

Re: PLA "over adheres" to kapton+hair spray?

My new (~2 months ago) M2 came with kapton tape on the beds. The adhesion with hair spray is too good (if that's...

Re: The State of the Gear

Wireless good. Bigger printer good. New model number good. Dual extruder on regular machine? meh. Dual extruder on large machine? better. Minimizing air friction? #lolwut :D Looks like it's all good for new folks. Shiny new features are nice, but the actual prints will be the same high quality, bes...

Pretty good actually. Base is not going to blow your clothes off but they have enough and mids and highs are very clear and fast.

You can say that again, there is no reason these should have printed so nicely at the speed I printed them. A testament to the material and the M2

Speakers

Some speakers I designed and printed on the M2. As usual the workhorse cranked through the print - even at 90mm/s.
