It closely resembles a Makerbot roll of abs I have.
I would put it at 330 grams

Scampa123 - If you post a pic of the roll I might be able to get you close on the weight of the spindle.

in simplify 3d after you select prepare to print in the top left corner it will tell you the length and weight of the plastic required. When you get a new roll weigh it . Example 1150 grams since there is 1000 grams of filament on a new roll you can figure the spindle weighs 150g. If you prepare a p...

I use digital scale.
measure the roll when new and write it down on the spool.

when you want to know how much is left throw it back on the scale.

S3d tells you how much you need for the print.

I don't understand. You replaced the stepper motors with servos (presumably modified for continuous rotation)? How does that even work, I didn't think you could get enough accuracy with servos. These are not RC car servos. These are brushed DC servos with encoders. They always know where they are. ...

Maybe I am missing something. Why do you need the metal insert? There's a little metal collar inside the knob with a set screw that lets you lock it onto the Z-axis rod. I get its there. I have been working on a magnetic cluch system that will stop the z axis from falling. I have just been tapping ...
