Re: (Edit) Really bummed....

I had a similar experience for different reasons this last week after a friend and I modified my M2 from a V4 dual config to a single V4 which has a BLTouch bed leveling sensor - as part of this I installed a slightly customized extruder body which my friend printed out of polycarbonate. When I trie...

Re: The GearMaker M2 Kit for Newbie?

OK, bigger models than I thought. The M2 was/is my first printer and I too chose the kit option, not to save money but because I wanted the experience of doing it. My attitude is that if I received it all built and tested I'd have been intimidated about making any changes to it, but if I put it toge...

Re: The GearMaker M2 Kit for Newbie?

As much as I love my MakerGear M2 and their outstanding customer service, from what you've said about your potential usage I'm wondering if a FDM (filament) printer is actually the best for what you want to do. It sounds like you're into smaller models and very fine details and that screams SLA prin...

Re: BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor

Ed, since you mentioned you aren't using a BLTouch (which I installed this last weekend in my M2) are you doing Z sensing but not bed level compensation with that switch? It looks like maybe you sense Z with the nozzle off the edge of the bed, but the switch over it?

Re: I'm hearing a new noise while printing

I think it's related to extrusion not motion.

I'm hearing a new noise while printing

Tonight I'm printing something and for the first time I'm noticing a noise during the print. Not sure yet if it's one of the fans or from the extrusion stepper or gearbox. I recorded a video, if you listen to it at a fairly high volume you might pick it out. https://youtu.be/gqlM9AmtW_o Anyone hear ...

Re: BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor

I'm about to embark on the BLTouch + Marlin 1.1.8 path for my M2E dual.... so yes, I would really appreciate any tips on upgrading Marlin to the latest. It's my understanding that you can't do auto-leveling with the dual extruder because on a non-level bed one extruder would crash into the bed when...

Will m3 part designs be put on github like the m2 was?

I don't see the m3 models for the 3D printed and laser cut parts on github like the m2 parts are - will they be put up eventually? As a m2 owner I really appreciated MakerGear's open design and ability to hack things, I'm running with a couple of modified parts.

Re: M3 and Simplify 3d (sort of an unboxing)

Wait, does the OctoPrint setup built into the M3 ONLY work with wireless or does it support wired too?

My strategy is that stuff that doesn't move gets a wired connection whenever possible.
