Re: E3D V6

Jim, I printed out your E3DV6 filament drive and fan attachments in black ABS. Came out great. The only change I made was to print the fan mount upside down from the orientation you had. I thought it would need less support that way. The effect was that the M2 logo didn't print as nice, since it had...

Re: E3D V6

I got some ptfe tubing from amazon a while back:

It works great. Very slippery.

Re: E3D V6

Thanks, Tim. That's a huge help. Another approach for the tubing might be a two-piece unit where the bottom part has the the normal snap fit for the hot end but where the ptfe can still be inserted from above. That is then bolted to the top part that houses the gear, with the ptfe tubing already in ...

Re: E3D V6

The people I bought the flexible filament from recommended using a small section of ptfe tube from just below the gear into the filament drive and up to the hot end. The reason they gave was friction since that's the most vulnerable place for the filament to buckle. Given the v6 comes with the tubin...

Re: E3D V6

Mine came a couple of days ago. I just had time to open it up and have a look at the pieces and do the first little bit of assembly. It didn't come with any instructions. I assume they're on the web site, but I was following this video instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr02pG58gaU There is th...

Re: M2 made what caught this fish!

Hey, John, that's great! Congratulations!

I don't think I've ever been to Manistee but I grew up on Lake Michigan (in Illinois) and later traveled many times through the UP on my way between Minneapolis and Montreal. Love that country. Never failed to stop and get a couple pasties!

Kickstarter build plate

There's a new kickstarter campaign claiming a build plate that doesn't need any coating to work with pla or abs or nylon. They'll cut it it any size under 12x12. For $25 I'm in:

Re: getting ready first print, priming filament

I moved the SD card to my laptop. I went the machine controls and did an import from SD card. I then sat and watched line by line of code get read. Is this right? Should it take this long to load from the card? If this is wrong, how am I suppose to load my G file from the SD and drop the image on t...

Re: Slow Server

I'm no expert, just some limited experience and opinions here. From the looks of their web page 1&1 is an el-cheapo provider. I would expect this sort of problem to be a regular occurrence with them. I would check out Amazon Web Services for a more professional solution. A quick search revealed they...
