Makergeek all metal J-head?

I have my eye on this: http://makergeeks.com/allmejhed3me.html and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with it. I like the fact that it's all metal; the high amount of printing I do puts unusual wear on the plastic groovemounts.

its an e3d ripoff. just buy the real thing from e3d. its actually cheaper.

I have an E3D (v5...v6 is on order) and it's been great. If you don't buy from the company directly (in the UK), you can also buy them from http://www.printedsolid.com/shop/e3d/e3dv6/

Thanks for the tip! I assume you got direct drive? If so, it just snapped into the M2's existing hardware since it's J-head, right?

no the filament drive needs to be specific for e3h hot end. they are close but different. there are versions avail on thingiverse for the m2 that fit both the v5 and v6. here is a setup i designed. i know there are some others

I am not sure when Makergear will release the V4 hotend for one head but the new hot end is really sweet.
I clogged it yesterday and just take the tip off and prime some filament through it clean the tip back to printing.
It feeds much better also. Being so short it gives you extra build room.

I should add the reason it clogged was
I had some HIPS filament that I could not print with my old hot end. I tried to print it with the new hotend but it just clogged it just like the VB3. I am tossing this bad filament out.
I have printed over a pound of filament the last couple days and I have had no clogs with good filament it prints better than before with the new hotend.

Regarding the new v4, I agree, although I haven't given it as much of a workout as markb, with different filaments and all. I think MG should consider making it available in a single extruder option, as it provides improvements over and above dual extrusion capability.

My experience with Maker Geek is terrible with unprintable extra glo ABS.
This stuff is junk, stay away.

What's the difference in the direct drive and bowden tube?
Using a lot of PET+ and that stuff is semi soft already and trial and error
on how to set the drive tension idler bolt and nut.

Noticed too, after a while the drive gear seems to lose some of it's sharpness
when it to the teeth of the gear.

Is direct drive better?
Can it be fitted to the M2?
