Thanks. It was Jims Idea. I saw when he was talking about a blasting template with a vinal cutter. I have access to a laser marking machine so I ran with it.

I did some checking to answer that question. I checked the plate with a surface gage (profilometer) and have these comparative numbers .

Glass plate checked 6 RMS
mic 6 plate checked (shiny side) 11 RMS
mic 6 plate glass blasted checked 149 RMS
mic 6 plate blasted and layered left a finish of 212 RMS

So it seems the lasered area is a little rougher.

Which side of the plate are you using with the glue. I'm struggling a bit

The textured side. What does "struggling" mean, it doesn't work for you?

Tried the textured side. PetG part curled. I had used quite a bit of glue as the surface is rough. I printed 2 parts one barely curled and the other severally curled.
It was no where as good as I was used to on glass. So I figured you might have been using the smooth side. It is almost the same surface finish as the glass so I thought it would work. So far that has not worked out at all so I thought I would Ask.

Unless jin has different results, i dont think glue stick works with the plate for some reason. All ypu should need is that garnier fructise #5. It should hold almost anything you throw at it

Which Side?

I really hate to give up on old reliable but that is my fallback plan.

I've been using the purple glue stick with PETG and PLA, textured side, no problems for a long time now.

What temp? PETG should be ~90C.

I think those who use the hairspray use it on the blasted side.

Slip, you need to try a PEI sheet on the smooth side - holds like a son-of-a-b, and no adhesive. (And you still have the blasted side for hairspray if you run across something that needs it.)
