I found another advantage to the v6 design: because the volume of the hot zone is small, you can clear out filament with less extrusion when changing between different colors. The Hatchbox black ABS I use a lot of is real stubborn to wash out when switching to another color. I've had to run as much as 2000mm of filament through it before the black pigments were completely washed out of the vb3, but I can do it in about 200mm with the v6. It's almost like they are using lampblack carbon for the black pigment in that stuff, it just really clings to the walls and bleeds into the next color for a long time. MakerGear black ABS never did that, it's only the Hatchbox black I've ever seen have this problem.

The eSUN cleaner filament is good for that too.
