Thanks for the replies and info. I knew the pi was cheap per year to run. But at the same time one less thing plugged in and or on my desk right now is a bonus no matter how cheap it is. This is a hobby for me so I like to tinker and play.I don't get to serious about it and fail a lot at it, but in the end as a builder at heart I always find my way back to cad and printing...or trying to print something else. I'm just glad we have all the talented people on the forum willing to share their time and knowledge. Thanks !!! :D

I did take a quick look at the firmware. BBP is calling their firmware "Unicorn". I did a quick visual comparison of the Unicorn motion.c routine and the motion_control.c routine from the Marlin firmware downloaded from Makergear (M2_Marlin_24r1) and the modules are essentially the same. Marlin has some code to check software endstops and Unicorn does not.

If Unicorn is not a derivative of Marlin then they both have a common ancestor.

The developer said himself it was just marlin they were running. Cool that you verified.
