I have just ordered the V4 update for my M2.
What type of life are you getting out of the hot Ends.
I only ask as my first Hot end lasted 2 years printing about 20 hours a week.
And I haven't been abled to get 3 months since.
Ver 4 Hot End Life
Re: Ver 4 Hot End Life
May I ask.....How are they going bad? ('Cause I regularly run mine close to 20 hours/day...and at that rate, it might decide to kick the bucket next week! )
Re: Ver 4 Hot End Life
1st one 2 Years Quit heating (Not sure Version but it was the round ceramic 12v original one)
2nd one aprox 30 hours . Pla started leaking out around the threads and it clogged (same version as 1st)
Since I was out of spares of that style I upgraded to 24v
3rd one 30-40 hours thermistor failed (Ver 3b I believe)
Ver 4 on order. I don't print near as much as I used to so I don't know if that is contributing to the issue.
Could just be bad luck. I was just curious what I should be expecting out of the new design.

Re: Ver 4 Hot End Life
I'm currently running the 24v 3b, but I did pick up a v4 when they became available, because I'd heard nothing but good things about it. (Just haven't found time to change it out yet.)
I don't know if anyone has had those long enough to tell yet how long they last though, so we might both be waiting a while.

Jules change that hotend out now. The v4 is so much better.

Chuckle! Yeah, I know.....I'm just caught between playing chauffeur for the folks while they house shop (save me ), flyer design (for the business), and the usual annual doctor/dentist runs right now....it's extremely frustrating to have it just sitting there staring at me!!!

Ignore family.
Upgrade printer.
The printer is family. The printer is love.

House shoppers can drive themselves, the M2 can't fix itself. Nobody wants to go to the dentist, so nobody will complain if you blow that off.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
