M2 Auto-Leveling Kit (Beta)

We have five M2 auto-leveling kits available. These kits use an inductive sensor so you'll need a metal build surface as it does not work with glass.

We'd like to get these in the field and get your feedback so that we can determine how to proceed. We only have five kits available at $25 each (beta price). They can be ordered through the upgrade page.

Be aware there are minimal instructions.

Correction: this will not work with the dual v4. We are trying to determine how to mount the probe if you want to temporarily remove a v4 hot-end from the dual to test auto-leveling with a single hot-end.

Thank you,
Rick

Do they require the new zstop configuration or is the old ok?

Yes, the existing z-endstop configuration is fine. The components to mount the sensor are included. A firmware change may be required. We'll post a photo of the kit.

Ill look at the photo. I am happy to give it a try but am a little worried the E3D extruder mount etc might interfere with its mounting.

Does it come with the "metal build surface"?
If not, is there one you know works?

It does not come with a metal build surface, I know from posts here that some people are already using metal build surfaces.

I would like to get feedback so that we can decide how to proceed.

I grabbed one. Figured for 25 bucks it was worth rolling the dice and helping out :). Already got the metal build surface.

Not that I have ever had an issue leveling the printbed on the M2.

Just an FYI.....The Zebra plates have an imbedded copper layer on both sides, for use with that kind of inductive sensor.

I would order one of the leveling kits but i do know my limitations, and this is likely a bit above my pay grade. It would be better for some of the more knowledgeable fellas to get a crack at one of the first five.

(So come on guys - I want to see if it works!) :D

I am pretty handy with a screwdriver and a rock. Does that count?
