I am using Arduino 1.6.5 is that ok or should I revert to 1.5.5

Lastly where to put the rambo folder explicitly. Is it in the Arduino folder in program files or in the sketch folder where there is the ArduinoAddons and do I need to make a subfolder other than the 1.x.x and state explicitly which version of Arduino.

So far nothing I do shows up the Rambo board type. Should I overwrite the boards.txt in the avr subfolder?

The RAMBo is "Arduino Mega or Mega 2560".

Outstanding. Is the archive Marlin-Development-Viki2-M2 suitable for the 24V M2 with the black vertical motor and finer leadscrew, or the older version with the silver/black vertical motor and the heavier screw??

Makergear support answered via email. The file linked by Josh earlier in this thread is for the older 24v M2, pre-black-z-motor.

Crap, I bought one of these viki2 controllers under the assumption that people have been using these on the M2 without any problems. From reading this thread it looks like they are a lot of trouble to get working. I guess I should have went the octoprint route.

Or my viki1 route :) [still have a bunch ... you do too, it seems ... I also have 5x Pi's for sale if you'd like to go that route instead]

I really liked the new screen on the viki2... are these things just unusable?
