Has anyone tried one of the laser-cutter/engraver add-ons?

I started looking at the L-Cheapo and that led me to looking at the J-tech ones. The fact that you can engrave photos with an upgraded software is really interesting. Just seeing if anyone has had any experience with anything like this?

I was looking at the same thing but decided against it because of the safety factor. If you do it be extremely careful. A stray beam can blind you at that power very easily.

Jtech sells the plastic sheets that block the laser light so I was considering getting a few of them and making an enclosure for the m2
