Modified (Hinged) V4 Single Filament Drive
Re: Modified (Hinged) V4 Single Filament Drive
na no paint. paint burns so would defeat the 1/2 the point i think. paint will stick to it though no problem.
Re: Modified (Hinged) V4 Single Filament Drive
I have a spool of it, so I will definitely have to give it a try. Especially as my last drive design with the inductive sensor mount needs to have the mount moved back 2mm so that the sensor will trigger at Y-min. Maybe I can put a Sharpie on it to make it look prettier than the natural color.jimc wrote:for you guys printing extruder drive parts, i cant recommend enough printing them in epc. kinda sucks it just comes in the natural color but man what a difference.
If you printed a drive with the ePC, I suppose that means that you didn't run into any particular problems using it as support material?
Re: Modified (Hinged) V4 Single Filament Drive
tim, support with epc works fine. its easy to remove. alot like pla.

same to report here. Snaps away quite nicely.jimc wrote:tim, support with epc works fine. its easy to remove. alot like pla.
Jules, to get EPC over to the Dark Side, you could color it with marker instead of paint. Marker over transparent filament looks pretty cool when done right.
I'm finally back to where I started two days ago!
A thread with some stuff in it I update every once in a while. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9

Hmmmmmmmm! Hmmmmmmmm!
Yes,....yes, the idea much merit has......
(You know, that reminds me......I also saw a Pinterest thing where they were dyeing printed objects with RIT dye - that would be worth experimenting with too, maybe.) Guess i'd better buy me some ePC.
Re: Modified (Hinged) V4 Single Filament Drive
the rit is used for nylon

if your speaking of epc then its pretty easy to print with. just extrude at 270 with no bed fan. ooze controls should be pretty similar to pla.

Although Jim should have linked to the thread where he posted his settings:
