Will this probe work for the auto-levelling?
Re: Will this probe work for the auto-levelling?
Initial reports are positive. BuildTak is the weak point in this project. Bratag, I'm going to run the machines longer before I share the firmware out, I'm not 100% yet.
My local metal shop still amazes me they are in business. 10x 9.95x7.95" sheets of 22 gauge steel for $15 out the door.
Most have masking tape on them now, some have BuildTak, 2 have Kapton. It works pretty well so far ...

I wouldn't mind a couple a couple. I love my MIC6 plate but would like to try some other print surfaces while retaining the auto level.insta wrote:Do you want some sheets cut?

Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit....was not going to ask. You had to just come on out and offer........
(OK....we might have to work out a deal for a hefty batch of jack or brit and $20 in exchange for a couple of plates cut to size. I've also got metal shop envy.)
Better yet, you could set yourself up with a really lucrative little side business if you just have a bunch cut and then sell them for $10-$20 each. Bet you'd sell a wad of 'em....I've been wanting to test heat distribution with a metal plate. Was gonna hit Jim up for a Mic6 finishing job one of these days, but he's already done so much to help me get started i hated to be a pain in the tush.
Do you have to do any finishing work to it once you have it cut? (Cause i got no access to them thangs either. )

Awesome sauce. I think the only thing I will need to be careful of is the offset from the print bed you have set for your probe.insta wrote:None yet. Use at your own risk though: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B10f0 ... 3lzTkFjSVE
