Z-axis brake

Post by Slipshine » Fri May 20, 2016 3:52 pm

I have made a break for the z-axis on the M2 . It uses magnets to create a slip clutch that stops the z-axis from falling when done with a print.

Where was this last year when I first got my machine? (Whacked the living daylights out of my Z-motor more times than I could count!) :D
(Love the Slip-CO writeup too!)

It didnt seem real bad until I added the mic6 plate.
It was falling too fast.

Using magnets to counterbalance the weight of the Z-stage. . . how can I not like it? Great design.

Except. . . "cheep". . . "break"? You need to work on your spelling, man. :)
