Couldn't you use blind rivet nuts for this?

That's actually a good idea.... I'll have to look into it and see if I can find one that will fit the hole and still have a small enough thread size.

Here's a 'no spider machining' approach that uses those 6.2 mm diameter holes in the corners of the spider: http://turtlesarehere.com/html/4_point_leveling.html. The design approach is not original. This seems to work well and the bed is certainly more secure than with the 3 point MG system. Although levelling without a Z probe is not as straight forward as the 3 point system, the bed tilt per turn of an adjustment screw is significantly finer.

In any other context, you'd be looking at a failed print on the way to the scrap pile. You get that "dimpled" effect from a single top layer collapsed into sparse infill. On the other paw, the post dates from 2011, when anything looked good, particularly from that hardware.

Don't use SketchUp for 3D modeling: life is too short for so much suffering.

@mookthai

would you please correct the link in your post that is quoted from me. Somehow you have added a "gclub" at the end of my link and this is not what I posted - nor does it direct to my link.

Thanks,
