PLA & Moisture

Post by MakerMike7 » Wed Aug 27, 2014 4:31 am

Just got the M2 and have been printing with RED PLA for a few days. Really happy with the unit....

What is considered good practice for removal and or storage of PLA rolls?

I've read and understand that PLA will absorb Humidity from the air and may affect printing. How long can I leave the roll on the M2 exposed.... I print 2-4 parts a day so I don't see blazing through this roll for quite a while.

Based on posts I've read here and other forums I'm using these for storage:

I'm using two of the silica cans in the container.

It actually feels nice and cool when you open it here in Florida.

Not sure what a safe time to keep it out is, I've been stashing it after a couple of days of not using it.
