Does this esun filament weigh the same as a duck?

Finally got around to playing with this Hatchbox stuff and it's pretty cool. It prints great like mentioned (it smells pretty good too while printing.) but someone lied though it doesn't float. :x ) While it's not going to work for what I wanted it for it is pretty cool for making models anyway so not a total waste.

Found this on Thingiverse and thought it would be a good quick test. I stained it with some old Minwax and then juts brushed on some black paint for details.

One question though... Do you guys use a fan when printing this stuff?

That is odd, a piece of filament right off the roll floats for me. I wonder if it somehow loses buoyancy after it is melted. In any case, I am sure that if you printed something with a 60% infill or less it would float fine.

No Worries :D I think it has more to do with surface tension. :| Mine floated at first when dropped in the water but if you poke it and break the surface tension it just sinks.

Unfortunately even printing parts at 100% isn't going to make them watertight and I'm trying to print Remote Operated Vehicle parts so I have to deal will pressure too so infill would be out of the question.

I've been playing with the wood stuff all weekend though and it's pretty awesome so it was well worth buying a spool even if it didn't work for what I originally intended it for.
