Jim bead blasts his plates, so there is a bit of tooth on them for adhesion. It is a very fine texture, like 600 grit sandpaper or the surface of a piece of paper.
I'm finally back to where I started two days ago!
A thread with some stuff in it I update every once in a while. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9

Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
Yes i think i have made a mic6 plate for almost everyone on the forum by now lol. I media blast one side to a certain profile so the hairspray bonds and coats the plate. You can generally just keep using it with just a super light touchup between prints. When buildup gets too thick just wash off in hot wayer and start again.
Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
Jim, have you tried your hairspray and MIC6 with pc-plus?
Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
I have never used that but it does work great with epc
Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
thats good to know. I'm assuming thats with the fructis hold & flex ultra strong?
Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
All i use is the garnier fructise #5 extreme hold stuff
Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
I have a feeling that my stuff isnt the same, because the claims you make about your hold are definitely beyond what I've experienced with my stuff on the MIC6. Would you mind posting a pic of your spray? Maybe the US stuff is different than whats available in the great white north
Re: any recommendation for colored polycarbonate ?
