I am impressed so far with this filament. Easy to print. very strong. Low odor. Warp seems unusually low for ABS. Only downside is ordering sizes are weird and it is on the more exspensive side.Another downside is this stuff is brittle. I thought it was because it was a roll I had from a year ago , but I see other reviewers complain of the same thing. Lost a print last night because of it.

Do you mean brittle as in the filament tends to snap off, or brittle as in the printed pieces are brittle? Because I thought that the whole point of carbon fiber was to add strength, and brittleness sounds like the exact opposite of that.

I was kinda curious about the warp. Nithing warps as bad as nylon and when i recently tried the beta esun cf nylon it had no warp or shrink whatsoever. A 100mm test bar printed to exact dimensions. Well atleast within .004". Curious if the abs stuff was the same?

Brittle as in the filament while feeding into the printer breaks. I was printing a larger flat square box to test warp and the filament broke leaving me wanting. Initially I see no warp. More testing is needed though. They sell carbon fiber infused petg abs nylon and a few other that slip my mind. The box is flat on the bed this morning with no warp and at a half inch high. Seems promising. Carbon fiber does wear components, but I only print with steel nozzles anymore. This offsets the wear sufficiently.

I purchased a couple of rolls of "Filament Innovations" carbon fiber ABS filament. Have printed many parts with most taking from 4 to 12 hours to print. Haven't had and breaks in the filament. Using a V4 with SS .35 nozzle on my M2 printer, no clogs either. I have printed over a roll and a half of this filament and have been very impressed with the results. I have even been switching back and forth between this and PLA filament with no issues, though I do run a piece of cleaner filament between the two. I found it on Amazon for about $40 per .8 Kg roll.

what bed prep are you using while printing with this stuff?

I'm using the Kapton tape for the ABS/Carbon fiber filament, and for any ABS filaments. 110 degrees on the bed, then let it cool down and the part pops right off. With the ABS/carbon fiber, I don't notice any warping. I do use a raft for the parts I am printing, and using Simplify3D, I am able to set the separation distance and parting the part from the raft once it cools down is easy.

I have MakerGear M2 Rev 4 with the .35mm stock nozzle using Kapton tape.

Are these temperature settings a good start point?

Extruder: 260C
Bed: 110C

It's a hybrid - If you don't have specific recommendations for it, start with the manufacturer suggested settings (of 220°) printing temp and read through the comments by the folks who reviewed it. (It's a good way to get started with something new.)

Be sure to use cleaning filament if you are switching from PLA.
