I am using Makergeeks PETG; had i working perfect with .35 tip, but needed a little more speed in my prints (time-wise) I am using v4 hot end
So i purchased a .5mm. Changed the settings that needed it for .5mm nozzle, but my prints are now getting tons of strings
I have tried with and without retraction, since I have read it can cause this, with little change
and tweaked my ooze control a little, to no avail
Any ideas?
Lots of strings on my print with PETG and .5mm nozzle

I've done plenty of prints with .5 nozzle using eSun PETG without excessive stringage. Didn't do anything special.

Cool, could you share your settings? What are your ooze control settings?zemlin wrote:I've done plenty of prints with .5 nozzle using eSun PETG without excessive stringage. Didn't do anything special.

Still getting some strings, any ideas?
Anyone share their .5mm settings for PETG?

stringing will always be there with petg BUT you can get it to where its very very light. its all temp based. your temp is too high. you need to lower the temp 5 deg at a time until you find where the filament starts losing layer adhesion. at that point you bump it up 5 deg and that will be your sweet spot. you only have about a 5 deg window with petg. for esun petg with my e3dv6 i find 240 is the ticket. occasionally i will bump up to 245 on a part that may be prone to breaking along layers.
