Good Infill settings for clarity in clear PETG

Post by Vandal968 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 12:01 am

I've been working on an interesting mechanism (sorry, can't disclose ATM). I need to see how several parts inside a housing are interacting in real-life vs. the motion simulations. Up until now I've 3d printed the housings in whatever colored PLA was laying around, but now I need to print a clear housing so I can look thru it. I ordered a spool of clear PETG since I didn't see any clear PLA for next-day. Any advise on the infill or other settings to maximize transparency? I'm assuming a high infill and higher temps to get the layers to bond better. Any pointers?

cheers,
c

No infill, 2 perimeters, and coat the outside (and inside if you can) with XTC-3D.
